PLEASE can you help sponsor Shar-Pei in Texas. We have many Shar-Pei that are HEART WORM POSITIVE,  and need your help.

Will you be one of our Guardian Angels?

STABLER

I know what you are thinking: how did a good looking boy end up without a family. I have been asking myself that question as well. I was found hanging out at a metro parking lot and was quickly handed over to NASPR. Thank goodness because I am just a young boy and I was cold and hungry it was so great to have a warm pat on the head and a safe place to sleep. My name is Stabler and I am about a 1 ˝ years old.  I just love to be around people and will give you tons of kisses. I just want to have my very own person to love. I really hope that it will be you.

EMMIE

My name is Emmie, I am @ 2 yrs old and I am looking for a forever home. I had a home with a lot of brothers and sisters but it was not a good place for me to live. The nice people at NASPR came and took us to their shelter and have taken really good care of us. All my family have been adopted but me and two of my brothers. The three of us are currently in in foster care. I am really a very good girl. I love my foster family but to have a home of my own is my goal. Don't worry about me making a mess because I am one of the cleanest Shar-Pei that you will ever meet, just ask the nice people at NASPR!  I get along really well with other dogs and will not be any trouble at all. If you can find just a little room for me, I will make it up to you in hugs and kisses. I am current on all my shots and my vet says that I am one healthy girl, quite a difference in the skinny, shy little girl that I was a year ago. I do have one requirement though.  I need a high secure fenced yard that I can't be tempted to try and climb out of.  See somehow in my short little life I learned the knack of climbing.  Now I just can't seem to help myself if the fence is lower or has a structure close that I can climb on.  I am pretty sure with a little love I will forget all about this nasty trick and stay safely inside the fence. Won't you give me a chance?

TRINITY

Meet Trinity.  Trinity is a true hero dog.  At only 1-2 years old, she has overcome obstacles a lesser dog may have not been able to endure and maintained both dignity and grace.  Her sweet gaze shows a sort of wisdom only dogs that have experienced the difficult life of a rescue possess.  You see, Trinity is one of the dogs who was taken into NASPR’s care after being rescued from the horrible conditions of the kennel in Wichita Falls.  ;  Her life has changed drastically due to her friends at NASPR and the loving attention she has received from them along the way.  It is a wonderful thing to see Trinity learning to enjoy being a house dog with all the comforts of having a true home.  Her favorite things are finding chew bones and toys laying about the house and playing with her new dog and human friends (due to living in survival mode for so long, friends should not include smaller animals such as birds or cats as Trinity does have a large prey drive).  She crates without problem, responds to the “No” command quickly, and only wants to please.  She is learning all her house manners and enjoys treats as rewards or maybe just a few strokes to her soft and beautiful fur.  Her eyes are so expressive and kind, but it is truly a joy to see them open in startled awe when she discovers something new and fantastic about being a loved member of her foster family. Her only wish now is a forever home with her own special people where she can feel her long journey is finally complete.

GRACE

Grace has changed so much from her beginning days with NASPR. She has learned so many good things. She has learned to sit for treats and food. She uses a doggie door, and is potty trained. She rides great in a car, and walks like a pro on a lead. She tolerates other dogs, and has often had friends at the shelter that we let her run around and play with. She spends a lot of time lounging around. She's VERY laid back, and would do well in a calm, laid back environment. She would be a great friend to nap with, or sit outside and look at the stars at night with, or to sit at your feet while you read a good book. Anyone looking for the calm, lovable, laid back, already trained dog? Then Grace is perfect for you--as long as you don't have cats.
