JOY

From the time my little thin body left animal control, I knew I was going to be okay.  I didn’t feel very good because I was high heartworm positive, I didn’t have any hair, and I was so very tired.  But the NASPR volunteer was so nice and didn’t make me move very fast and I finally got to rest in her car.  I don’t remember my name before I got to animal control, but NASPR named me JOY and I know I can live up to that name.  I am a petite little girl, about 35 pounds, and I am very trusting in spite of what I went through before animal control.  I love other dogs and I always want to play.  I am now heartworm negative, my hair is growing back in and I bring a lot of “joy” to my foster mom.  I am about 2-3 years old and really would love to have 4-legged brothers and sisters.  I don’t try to climb on furniture, I don’t bark unnecessarily, I ride so very well in the car but I am not crazy about a crate.  I will endure it if necessary if it means I will get my very own home.  Someone in my past life taught me that to get a treat I had to sit.  So I sit now without even being asked when I hear the bag rustle just to be certain that my foster mom knows I’m ready to receive my treat.  I am a beautiful little girl, I wouldn’t hurt anyone, and I just want to be loved.  I like being at my foster mom’s home but I know it isn’t my home so I’m anxious to let everyone know I am available.  I will bring so much “joy” into your life.
