Sunshine
Sunshine is healing well from her surgery
to repair her badly broken bones, lacerations and abrasions. Sadly, her
eyesight has quickly failed and today she was referred to an eye
specialist who diagnosed her with Glaucoma and confirmed she is now
blind. It is difficult to know, but it’s likely the Glaucoma was
brought on from head trauma she sustained. Sunshine will need to have
her left eye removed and will likely will need to have the right eye
removed as well. Her foster mom believes she still sees some light on
the right side but the specialist did certify her as blind in both
eyes. Her wonderful loving temperament and outgoing happy personality
in spite of all she has endured continues to touch everyone she meets.
Her quality of life is good and she is so happy to once again be in a
loving home and surrounded by people who love her. Thanks to your
generosity, we were able to get Sunshine the orthopedic surgery she
needed to heal her broken bones. Sunshine
once again needs our help for the surgery needed to remove her painful
eyes so that she can finally live pain free. She’s
so thankful for all that has been done for her and shows it to everyone
she meets with her gentle spirit and wagging tail.
We have chosen Kuranda dog beds for our boarding facilities because they are so good for our dogs. We still don't have enough for all of our kennels. If you would like to donate a bed so another dog can sleep in proper comfort, please click here.
